As part of our Terry Riley tribute project that began in 2019, here’s a sample of the prepared piano parts layered to make a different piece, recorded in Georgia in 2022.
This preproduction demo was inspired by the phasing techniques of Steve Reich, the process pieces by Brian Eno, and the prepared pianos of John Cage, with some of the basic instructions from Terry Riley, thus the working title: Terry ReichCageEno Pianos.
